My Harry Potter reread |Back to Hogwarts

Hello friends,

Before I start, for those who haven’t read Harry Potter (what?!! how is that even possible?) beware there are potential spoilers so if you want to read it maybe soon in the future , you might want to skip this post!

Ok let’s get started.

In August, I started my reread of Harry Potter and I finished last month in September. I have so many feelings, so many thoughts and I needed to write something. Anything. I haven’t read this series in 8 years so it felt like reading it for the first time. Yes I knew as I was reading what was going to happen but there were so many new surprises and reading it all over again intensified this feeling of love and happiness that I feel towards these books. There was lots of laughing, thank you mostly to the Weasleys, my favourite wizarding family (especially the twins). There were lots of tears too, the heart break killed me, I was mourning for days, remembering all the moments that destroyed my poor little heart.

I can’t describe the feeling I was getting at the pit of my stomach, the chills and nostalgia.
My heart felt so happy and warm. When this book was first introduced to me in school, I fell absolutely and utterly in love with this world. Then I introduced it to my family and everyone I would meet. I made my family just as obsessed as I am. Everyone knew I loved this book, wherever I went, including my dad who didn’t like me reading it for some reason. This series took me to another world in a time I needed an escape, the characters stole my heart and filled it with laughter and tears and love. This book was my whole childhood and it is definitely a series that will stay with me forever. The memories of reading this and every night wishing I was in this world. Hogwarts is my true home. Rereading this bought back so many memories of fan fiction, obsession with the cast, watching videos of the cast, fan made videos, dreaming about meeting J.K Rowling (thats not happening). It bought memories of my childhood, when one girl in my class bought this book one day to class and made me more obsessed than her. I LOVE THESE BOOKS SO MUCH.

The first three books I flew through, I forgot how fast the books are. So many things the movies miss that I only realised now properly but the movies definitely did the books justice. The first three is the cute stage of friendship and adventure.  The Goblet of fire is where everything begins. The angst, the feels, death and heart ache. BUT I won’t forget the funny moments too, the heart warming moments between the three friends, the mischievous pranks and sweets of the Weasley twins. Umbridge, I absolutely hate her. Dumbledore. The most caring and beautiful soul. Sirius Black, my favourite Marauder and love of my life. Remus Lupin, the best defence against the dark arts teacher. Snape, the torment and love and heartache.  Hermione fighting for elf and other creature rights. Dobby the house elf. DUMBLEDORE’S ARMY. The Malfoys. THE DURSLEYS.
